Even if you’ve been successful in missions work for years, times are changing. Fast. If you don’t learn how to do communicate “the new way” you’re going to be left behind. My name is Mike Kim (more on me later) and I should know, I felt this way myself 3 years ago – and it totally changed the way I communicate and raise funds for ministry.
The method and speed at which the world communicates today is unprecedented. People are bombarded with texts, emails, and social media. They’re dealing with more distractions than ever before. This includes your donors.
Missioncast is a melting pot of information to get you decked-out with all the tools, tips and tactics you need to be able to start and grow your fundraising base in the 21st century. You’ll be ready to take on the world with a “new media” mentality faster than you ever imagined. Sound good?
Here’s your first resource: a short guide to some awesome design tools. Say farewell to learning cumbersome design programs, or hiring expensive designers. You can get the majority of your design needs taken care of with these quick, easy-to-use (and yes, FREE) tools. Just click the picture on the sidebar to get your free guide.
My name is Mike Kim. I am a speaker and ordained minister, and served as a lead pastor, worship pastor, youth pastor, and conference speaker. Missions is in my blood; I’ve ministered in Colombia, Bolivia, Peru, Malaysia, Philippines, Costa Rica, and Spain.
While missions is at the forefront of my passions, so is marketing. I am the chief marketing officer (CMO) of a multi-million dollar company, where I oversee all marketing operations in the very competitive New York City / New Jersey market. I am also a business and marketing consultant for small businesses and non-profits, and have helped a number of churches and missions organizations.
The sum total of my experiences give me a unique understanding of the balance between missions, ministry, and money. This blog was launched to help you communicate your mission, cultivate relationships, and raise funds.
How did Missioncast start?
It all started in late 2013 with an innocent little blog post I wrote called “5 Smart Ways Missionaries Can Increase Financial Support.” To make a long story short:
- I wrote the post, and offered free consulting to one missionary.
- The post went (surprisingly) viral.
- Hundreds of missionaries wrote in for free consulting (I seriously expected like 5 people to email me).
- I wanted to help as many people as I could.
- I did a free webinar to reach more people. Several hundred people tuned in.
- I offered a six-week paid consulting course called Marketing for Missionaries, which sold out.
- The course was fun, but too time and labor-intensive for me.
- I started this blog instead.
